Why is everyone getting excited about the P's and C's reporting.....

Probably just because it's a tangible sign that the season is one step closer.

Yep, it's more symbolic than anything else. There's nothing specifically about pitchers and catchers reporting that gets me excited, but it means we're one step closer to spring training games, followed by the regular season.

I look at it kind of like boiling a pot of water.

 

Pitchers and Catchers report- The oven is turned on.

Individual Tickets go on sale- Some small bubbles start to appear.

First Spring Training game- Many bubbles are starting to appear.

Opening day- The water in the pot is officially boiled.
