roberts is a huge upgrade at 2B. He is the 5th rated 2B in baseball & is an all-star. DeRosa has only been a fulltime starting 2B for a couple yrs & is nowhere near the top 20 in mlb.

 

Just curious...what criteria is used for these rankings?

 

Out of all full-time players that played at least 70 games at 2B in 2007, DeRosa ranked 16th in OPS+. I'd say that's not only near the top 20 but well inside of it.

 

I do agree that Roberts would be an upgrade, but that's certainly not due to DeRosa being bad.

 

Guess I set my hopes too high when expecting an answer to an honest question.

Yeah...my bad. I need to lower my expectations.
