i'm pretty sure that by this point, every person in iowa has met each candidate multiple times.

gotta love how iowa and new hampshire have such a large influence on deciding who gets the most important job in the world. great system, america.

I've been invited by the Dodd camp to caucus, but I have a few problems with that:

1. I am not a Dem

2. I don't want to caucus

3. I don't know anything about Dodd

4. I may be on to something, if you know what I mean

Chris Dodd is a complete douche. He was a very lousy senator and I pray for the people that actually vote for him. I think the only reason he ever became a Senator is that people in Connecticut rarely vote Republican.

I have no idea who is going to win. I've got feeling that Obama will win, but I really have no basis for believing that. I don't care that much who wins Iowa as long as it isn't Clinton or Biden. In my ideal scenario, Clinton comes in third place or worse and her campaign gets blown up by the loss of "momentum".

As far as what my guess for the ultimate outcome of the caucus goes, I think it won't be decisive. The media is invested in squeezing as much coverage out of the primaries as possible, so unless one candidate comes out way ahead, the media narrative will probably be that the campaign is not over. As long as the media treats the primaries like they are still a race, people will perceive the candidates as having a chance, and they will still give money to continue the campaigns. The media has a chance to create a self-fulfilling prophecy here and cause the primaries to be a race for much longer than they usually are.
