Pirates sign Chris Gomez

Chris Gomez-1B-Indians Dec. 4 - 8:23 pm et

 

According to his agent, Chris Gomez has agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the Pirates.

 

He'll take a physical before its official. The Pirates could carry Gomez as a backup at the corners and Josh Wilson as their middle-infield reserve next year. Jose Castillo is set to be non-tendered.
