Soriano's poor postseason numbers don't surprise me. With so much on the line, so much preparation, good pitching and good scouting reports, I understand it. It's much easier to exploit him.

 

Lee surprises me more. Ramirez is pressing also, but he's at least driven some balls hard.

Oh, and that bunt that Lilly completely missed that allowed the runner to get to first......

 

The wife saw that play (and all the pitches Lilly had thrown at that point) and concluded that Lilly was purposely throwing the game (ala Black Sox.

 

I have to admit, I can see where she's coming from.

 

I read "Eight Men Out" this weekend and needless to say, I had thoughts about that.

I still remember being relieved when he was up in the NLCS. I remember being scared when Cabrera, Castillo or Pierre were batting. Although he did burn us in the 8th of game 6, and that made it even worse.

yeah, i seem to remember him whiffing at a fair amount of breaking balls low and away from all of the cubs' right-handed starters. i wasn't the slightest bit worried about him.
