Pena in to pitch for Arizona

How many times we made up 4 runs after the 6th?

CUBS are 0-26 when they trail by 4 runs or more at the end of 6 innings.

Go CUBS !!

On a bright note, Kerry is looking good as of late. He could be a nice closer next year.

I hope Hendry brings him back for another incentive-laden deal and he stays healthy all year in the back of the pen. Trade Dempster and I'd enjoy seeing Howry-Marmol-Wood in the back end of the pen.

that is the best scenario. i guess its time to start talking about next year.

I'm such a minor league fanatic that I'm always looking at the future.

i think i'll try that tactic next year. at least there is always hope if you choose that avenue.

ps- for all the d lee hating going on for this series. if anyone is guilty of choking, it's aramis as much as lee.

Aramis had a few hard swings yesterday, the first one to get a hit is the least choking of those two. :P

Still time to chip away. Let's do this.

They just have too good of a bullpen.

I realize that, but even the best of pens has had a breakdown before. The Cubs just have to be patient.

Oh my god, you're a southerner. What the hell is up with all this optimism?

I never realized optimism was a regionally based thing. I thought southerner were generally like that.

Nevermind, I think the DP just sapped the optimism from me. Maybe not.

Me too...I'm also six beers in. It's gonna be a rough morning.

I'm at 12 with a fresh 18 pack handy. Anyone know a liver specialist?

I hope not, don't see the NL Central improving much. Esp with Jocketty and probably TLR gone.

Lee is 2-7 with a walk. I don't really see how that is choking, but whatever.

Yeah, I don't know why, but for some reason I can't turn this off. I tried a little bit ago, but I came right back to it. I'm a glutton for torture, I guess.

It's time to pull Kerry so he can start game 3.

We got Z for that.

Yeah but we have a lot of money tied up to players getting near their mid 30's. That and at some point the Brewers will fire Ned Yost.

Neither has done esp. well but it's tough to label either a "choker" given how few ABs everyone gets. I was just going with the wording used.

All Cubs fans are closet (or open) masochists. We all have to be.

brewers will improve... probably enough to overcome yost

We'll be better hopefully with Soto playing a full year. We had a black hole at catcher for so long this season.
