It's a shame that Dusty tried making this guy a closer, cause he could've been a major asset to our pen.

Gotta get that one, Tulowitski.

Blame Hendry, LaTroy was the only one who could come close in 2004.

why is everyone cheering for the rockies? Just because they are a great story or is there another reason? I think if I were a Phillies fan I would be cheering for SD - especially with Peavy pitching today.

Yes, the Padres are clearly the inferior team. I don't understand why so many are hoping for a Rockies-Cubs potential NLCS.

I'm kind of hoping for that because I think I could probably arrange to go to Denver for that series. but yea, SD is badly depleted. why is peavy still in there?

That looked like a HR to the naked eye.

This announcer is an idiot. Yeah, it hit the yellow padding and then went flying back on the field. If it hit the padding it wouldn't have bounced like that.

Guess what school Garrett Atkins went to, guys?

Chase Utley and Garrett Atkins were best friends when they went to UCLA, it'll be fun to see them going against each other if the Rockies win. :)

Well, we're Cubs fans, lol...and I don't want to see Philly (or Cole Hamels), so if the Rockies are a worse matchup for them, even better.

On top of that, I don't want to face that San Diego staff or see our bats get stifled in Petco. I think, the way our bats have come around in terms of power (even in FL, think of all the near misses in the huge park and humidity) we can more than hang in a Coors slugfest with these guys.

Plus, facing COL we'd have home field in the NLCS, which would be a little icing on the cake.

Rockies getting absolutely screwed there. There's no way that didn't go out. How do the umpires explain the ball flying back on the field the way it did. Ridiculous.

We would in SD too.

Colorado's pitching is now better than San Diego's, and they have two really good lefties. Their hitters would do well against the Cubs' pitching too.

Gotta take Peavy out.

pretty much agree. in order of who the Cubs could beat, for me it goes Rockies, SD, Phillies, with the Cubs having little chance against the Phillies. as far as who could beat the Phillies, with Peavy going tonight, that would be Colorado.

Well, fine, even if you feel that way... Would you rather face the Rockies or Phillies? If the Pads are so depleted, and won't be able to start Peavy twice, do they really stand much of a chance against Phil?

I sure as hell don't want to face Philadelphia. I know that much.

the rockies have the best third order pythagenport record of the NL playoff teams. Doesn't mean much but they could be the best team in the playoffs. I think all five teams are pretty even personally.
