Daryle Ward could miss the remainder of the regular season after spraining his left thumb on Wednesday.

Ward wore a splint and heavy wrap on his left arm Thursday. The Cubs' top pinch-hitter is batting .330 this season.

The remainder of the regular season isn't very long. Based on the wording, it seems like this is something that could be better before too terribly long. Hopefully keeping him off the playoff roster isn't necessary.

Since Ward is a FA, and a big postseason could mean some more money this coming offseason, if I was him, I would load up on vicodin and try and play through it.
