That's what you get for listening. Trachsel clearly was not laughing or joking. No, it wasn't all that big a deal, but it was totally uncalled for, unprofessional, and Lou and the coaches were not amused. The clubhouse has been a pretty nice place this year, and I'm sure Lou feels they don't need a sourpuss like Trachsel ruining things. (And Cubs players were watching the game.)

Was he provoked in any way to lash out or was he just irritated the media were there and felt like being a jerk?

It doesn't seem out of character for him to act like a pompous ass.

Was he taking long, pronounced breaks between each sentence?

I knew it wasn't a joke with Trax.

Thanks for setting the record straight Bruce.

I'm simply having difficulty comprehending why Lou is keeping this guy around. He's poison. And he hasn't an ounce of talent left.

He's dragging this team down. I can only pray the other players are smart enough to ignore him.

He was clear at the other end of the clubhouse. We didn't even know he was there. He made a special effort to yell down at us for no apparent reason.

All the more reason Lou's starting Trachsel yesterday was inexcusable. He sucked anyway, and now this.

Wow. Apparently he's been around East Coast media types too much and believes he has a right to vent whenever he wants. Even if he was still a decent pitcher it would be uncalled for. This guy is totally worthless.
