This has always been my favorite Devil Rays concept. Someone over at Sportslogos.net made it. I think that the hat logo could become a classic, like the interlocking Yankees NY or the Boston B.

Why bother with the uniform and name change when your going to move in the near future anyways?

I haven't heard about this. Are there any links? Any cities which seem the most likely?

I agree they need to get the hell out of Tampa, though. They'll never even sniff .500 in that place.

Or in the AL East.

It's a beautiful day in Florida... Perfect for a baseball game... TOO BAD ITS INDOORS!

Clearly you have never sat outside on a normal beautiful summer afternoon in Florida. Nice if you are at the beach, not so nice in a pool of sweat watching a baseball game. If the season was from October to March it would be great. April to September - not so much.

Solution: Waterfront stadium.

clearwater/st. pete is my hometown

i actually really like the new uniforms...they are nice...

the team really isn't going to be moving any time soon, and they are actually going to start winning and....oh my gosh....yes...they will be over .500 soon...

please guys, i read a lot of intelligent baseball discussion and analysis on this board, how you sit back and say they will never be .500 with the team that is out there right now...they are a very few offensive pieces away from being nasty...and then they just need a couple of pitchers and a lot of bullpen arms...

but that can be done over the next couple of years...3 years from now this team is going to be nasty...

but the best news is that i was interviewing a guy who works there the other day for a school assignment and i found out that the cubbies are heading to st. pete next season...

i am pumped!

Agreed.

TB will be fine, their offense is about about to become one of the best, hopefully Brignac can bounce back, Longoria will be close, and the younger hitters will be progressing. Navarro has had a good 2nd half as well.

As far as the pitching, they have a decent 1-2 with some second tier young arms trying to fit into the rotation (Sonnanstine, Howell, Hammel, etc.). Of course, their strength in pitching will depend on Price, Neimann, Davis, McGee, and Hellickson. If they can fill 3 spots with 3 of those guys and like you saidm get some arms for the pen, it'll be a very talented yet inexperienced squad.

They'll make the playoffs in 2010 or 2011 if they can keep the offensive core together.

The Rays could be as talented as the Yanks and Red Sox in a few years. The Rays won't have the ability to add on salary like the other two but it's not hard to imagine a down year from one of those teams as their stars get older.
