Yeah, the reduction to 2000 really changes some things. :|

Gotta see how the points play out for the rest of the year, but even before the reduction to 2000 I was probably going to look to trade: Maggs, Holliday, Abreu, ARam, Webb, Oswalt & all the relievers. This means I'll probably also have to dump one of Reyes, Vic or Halladay.

Essentially, a points limit of 2000 means you can only keep three productive players plus one guy who was either hurt or not as good. Plus all the exempt players and minor leaguers.

I wish this was clear at the beginning of the season. I don't know that it would have prevented me from trading away some of the young players I did, but it would have changed the trade value of them for certain.

yep. I'm looking at Santana, Wright, and Sizemore right now. Which means, Morneau, Sheff, Wells, Hunter, Hudson, and Escobar will be on the block.

placed glaus on the DL, as he is supposed to be out for the season. i don't know if he's officially on the DL, so if that's a problem, let me know. also, guthrie's out for the season too, so i could put him on the DL instead if that works better. or i could drop guthrie.

in any event, i'm pissed i dropped escobar.

yea, that's fine so long as he doesn't play. we all know teams don't use the DL in September.

Orlando Hudson is out for the season so I just dropped him...I take it I could have him on the DL?

Shouldn't you reemphasize this 2000 point limit somewhere other than the game thread? I only happened by this thread.

Oh, and I'll be shopping for players this offseason. I believe I'll have some nice cap space. Maybe I can finally get the 1b I haven't had since I started in this damn league. :D

Yeah, there's a sticky that states the point limit. Also, you have a pm.

I should have expressed that I won't be available to discuss any trades until sometime this time next week. I'm leaving for Vegas in half an hour.

unless your players have cleared waivers, you can't trade them until the season ends anyway.

Chuck,

Have you mentioned to your players that they are still playing?

Alert: CBSSports.com will be taking a scheduled outage tonight.

Your league will be unavailable sometime after 1:00am ET. The outage shouldn't last more than a few hours and will not impact your league data. Thank you for your understanding.

Damnit. You were almost left for dead. I can't believe you've turned it around enough to finish 2nd for the 3rd straight year!

looking ahead to week 2...I've got Webb & Verlander scheduled for two starts apiece. Woo-hoo!

It looks like I won't hit 500 this week. :(

I've decided that my only remaining goal for this year is to lead the league in scoring for 10 weeks. I've already tied my league record of seven weeks leading the scoring in a single season, which I'll break this week. Adding two more weeks of high scores to break double digits would be a cool accomplishment.

There's also the minor point of guaranteeing a championship. :)

you can't count weeks where only four teams are playing . . .
