even our youngsters struggle with the southpaws?
They need to work on struggling against southpaws in the minors so they'll be prepared to do that in the majors. :D

They have won 2 out of 3 games against lefties this series.

It's not surprising that AA hitters are struggling with junkball lefties, most of whom are about 5 years older than they are.

Sucks that Kyle Reynolds doesn't start much against lefties, esp. when the opposition throws 4 lefties at you in a best-of-5.

Tennessee up 5-3 in the middle of the fourth. Casey McGehee has a big 3-run HR.

Mitch Atkins has been horrid at AA so far but for one start. 3.2 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 3 K/1 BB, HBP.

Game is tied at 5 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 4th. Jesse Estrada is coming in. The Smokies have blown a 5-1 lead.

ETA: Estrada gets out of it. Tennessee is tied 5-5 after 4.

Ugh, with the bases loaded and one out, there's a groundball to Chirinos and rather than trying for a potential inning-ending 6-4-3 DP, he threw home wildly. Everyone was safe and the bases remained loaded - Huntsville leads it 6-5. Now a sac fly lineout makes it 7-5 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th.

Smokies chipped away from an 8-5 deficit with a run in the 8th and 9th and almost tied it up in the 9th too but Casey McGehee was held at third when he could possibly have scored on a Tyler Colvin double. That error by Chirinos was extremely costly.

The final is 8-7 and the Smokies were eliminated to end the Cubs minor league season.
