Micah Burton Owings, owner of: 86 IP/4.92 ERA/1.477 WHIP

versus the 27 year-old lefty hailing from Boston, MA:

This historic match-up features the Chicago Cubs facing off for the second game of a three-game set against the one and only Arizona Diamondbacks of Phoenix. While the Diamondbacks (50-48) appear to be tumbling down to Earth following an unexpected first-half, the Chicago Cubs (51-44) are dutifully chasing down the Milwaukee Brewers (54-42) for the National League Central title. What once was a 8.5 game disparity between the two clubs on June 23rd has become an ever-shrinking gap of 2.5 games (and just two losses), following Milwaukee's loss against the Giants Friday night. Athletic contests don't get much more exciting than this folks.

I like Fontenot batting third, 2-3 with a walk, 2-2 in SB and 3 runs  :!:

it's the symbiotic relationship between the #3 spot and a Cub wearing #17

This has suddenly become a very fun summer.

I love how the Cubs are doing everything possible to bring me out to Wrigley again this summer.

Their solid play means i will gladly spend the dough.

Chicago Cubs Vs. Micah Owings

No Cub has ever faced Owings in the regular season.

20-5 has a nice ring to it, don't you think cubs? Linecum has it wrapped up in Milwaukee, cubs dominate, 1.5 games back....everybody goes home happy, gets drunk and then plays NCAA Football 08.

That might've been rock-bottom for this year's club... Then again, there were so many deflating losses early on, it's hard to choose just one...

That was painful.

on a related note: my sporting news magazine says that Lou isn't winning any popularity contests. Too bad, I hate the fact that players actually have to be held accountable.
