Didnt this hot run start when we swept the sox at the cell, or was it a series or two before that?

Nope it started with the sweep at the Cell. Right before that we had just dropped 2 of 3 at Texas, and I was wondering if I should even bother following the Cubs-Sox series.

Yep. After Sammy's 600th, I figured that would be the last watchable thing about this team for the season. Then the 7 game win streak happened.

It really started to roll when we blew a 8-3 lead in the 9th to the Rocks, only to come back and win the game in the bottom of the 9th. That loss would've been devastating!

:hammer meet nail: Dead on accurate, IMO... When we look back after winning the World Series this year, that will be THE GAME which for the ages will be known as the turning point....

Yep! We've been coming back from games late ever since...

that, and i think the come from behind victory over the brewers, capped by ARam's walkoff bomb, really got this team going

Yep, another great win, but I still think the Rockies game was so huge because: (1) that's exactly the kind of game the Cubs have been losing the past few years; and (2) losing that kind of lead late can be devastating emotionally, even for pro athletes. I'm not gonna quibble though, every win the past 6-8 weeks has been big...

Look at these stats:

Zambrano 12-7 3.69

Lilly 10-4 3.58

Hill 6-6 3.70

Marquis 7-5 3.92

Marshall 4-3 3.43

Every starter with a ERA under 4. That's flippin' beautiful!

Holy crap!

BTW - Not that this means anything, but we are now number 8 on ESPN Power Rankings...

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/powerranking?season=2007&week=16

Right in front of the Brewers.

Which is what the standings will look like soon...

too bad our fan site allows stupid signatures

?

They don't allow pic sigs. Although what they do have seems apart of their post.

And they also think the Cubs will cool off, but we think the same exact thing about the Brewers.

The Chicago Cubs are a buzzsaw right now.

Keep it buzzing for tomorrow game. Hill deserves better run support.

Pagan, RF 4 0 2 0 0 0 2 .289

8 hits and 6 runs from the middle of the order, but look at that middle?!?!? I will never doubt this team again...
