Hard to say. They are always looking to dump payroll. Yunel Escobar hasn't been horrible filling in where needed. If they felt they could improve the team elsewhere, it wouldn't be a huge shocker. But, the likelihood decreases the longer they stay in the thick of things.

 

Other teams (especially the AL) could potentially offer more for Renteria, however.
