I have no idea where people were - should I just reset the order by the current standings?

Makes the most sense to me. I thought they were being set by current standings, anyway.

Isn't this really only going to be a problem once a season and sometime after the draft?

Why not just disallow June draftees to be picked up until the season is over? How many are going to actually make it to the big club between June and the end of the season? 1? None?

Then those guys could be part of the draft process and maybe add an extra couple of rounds to the draft?

Those not drafted become free agents just like the rest of the player pool.

A lot of these guys may not even sign with their respective teams until the end of the season. I forgot what the new deadline is, but it seems a whole easier to do this than to have each team submitting bids on players and dealing with waiver orders, etc....

And you want to set this up for once a month? How exactly will this work? I submit a list of names like the guys Tim just drafted? Depending on the waiver order and what players are left will determine which player I get?

I think I'd rather just let Tim have all those players back rather than create a nightmare of combing the database once a month for newly added names.

But, to me an easy fix is just don't allow June draftees from being eligible to be picked up as free agents until the following year's manager fantasy draft.

I had changed that because it doesn't really make sense for the first few weeks of the season. I think it does make sense now though.

You have some good points. I would rather do a separate draft each summer though than make it part of the major league draft. Making it part of the major league punishes less successful teams that need their picks to rebuild.

The problem with this is its hard to track who has been added and its not just June draftees (see Clayton Kershaw).

I don't think checking for a few key guys once a month is that bad, that's why I was leaning that way.

The new signing deadline is August 15.

Matt disagrees with this, as he knows he was #1 in waiver priority before all this happened. I know he was there too, but i dunno where anyone else was.

Sounds like a good day for a minor league draft.

That isn't really an issue. There is no reason he should get top pick just because he hasn't picked up any players this year.

Why is that a better date? Players signing has nothing to do with the database.

I'm not going to argue since that means that I get the #1 Pick...

Just thinking that might be a good date, because most of the guys people would want to draft would likely be signed by that date. What do we do with guys who are added to the database but don't sign with their teams?

Can I draft a guy who goes back to college for another year or do I lose him?

Wouldn't Juan have the first pick?

Well.. he beat me head to head. I'd think record vs one another would make me be the worst in the league...

Makes Juan's job harder though. I sure wouldn't want to go through and look up match ups once a month to determine waiver orders. It would be easier to assign waiver orders breaking ties based on team points.

But hey, I'm not Juan. :D

That's an interesting question. I would say yes but we would have to track it (I can add players to the DB if they remove him - I don't think they would though).

Keep in mind most of these guys will be in college for 3 years - not 1 - if they don't sign.

And I think we should go through the waiver wire based on last year's record. O:)

Looks like Don was right.

They seem to be ridiculously slow at removing players from the database (players are still in there that have been out of baseball for a few years, like Chad Fox). The database seems like Hotel California; you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave. :D

Makes sense if you think about it. The June draft in the major leagues is based on last year's record, and since the players in question are from the June draft the same logic applied to Roadkill would dictate that picks would be based on last year.

The fact that I'd have the third pick has nothing to do with me saying that. :^o

Does the new waiver process include any new minor leaguers that weren't 2007 draftees?
