LOOKING TO REBOUND: Despite dropping yesterday’s game in Pittsburgh, 8-4, the Cubs have won 11 of their last 14 games and boast the best record in all of baseball since June 3 with a 21-11 mark (.656) in their 32-game span … Chicago is looking to avoid losing consecutive contests for the first time since June 20-21 in Texas … since then, the Cubs are 11-3.

I've seen this a lot lately. Here's a question I have... who has the best record since June 2nd, or June 1st? Obviously not the Cubs, otherwise they would just say that.

Yeah. The Cubs lost on both June 1 & 2. However, June 3 is the day after Lou's eruption, so maybe that's what is special about the June 3 designation.

Not necessarily-that's just the time when the Cubs started winning. If they had done it since June 2nd, the Cubs might still have the best record since then, but the overall record wouldn't look as impressive.

Jones back in CF.

Fun times for the whole family.

I don't like him either, but 2-4 last time out, with 2 doubles. More Jones mojo please (if we must have him).

Perfect lineup for today

Soriano LF

Fontenot 2B

Lee 1B

Ramirez3B

DeRosa RF

Theriot SS

Pagan/Pie CF

Hill/Bowen C

Pitcher

Other than the better version of Bo Hart at 2B, a productive second baseman playing the role of a right fielder, a utility guy playing the role of a starting shortstop and a black hole behind the plate, I completely agree.

Oh yeah -- and the career minor leaguer masquerading as someone valuable enough to take away time in CF from the legit prospect.

Cmon now..Bo Hart? Their ML #s arent even close. Sure you can say hes better but thats a low hurdle for him to compare to.

Bo Hart had a 916 OPS over his first 116 PAs. Their numbers are actually strikingly similar

I think we should petition Hendry to call up Soto. Sure, you can sacrifice SOME offense for defense at catcher, but I would like a catcher that actually has a chance of doing something at the plate.

At least Ward used to play in Pittsburgh so he SHOULD know how to play right field at PNC. He's still slow and old though.

I have edited my signature to reflect my annoyance with Hendry for not calling up Soto.

Hendry is too stupid. You should send a letter to the Cubs mailbag about it.

Dig deeper. Im talking ML.

MLB yes.

The lack of hitting from the catcher position is irritating.

Especially since we had a catcher who could hit and gave him away for one that can't and a minor leaguer who can't hit too.

And that we have another catcher that can hit wasting away in AAA.
