Marmol: 21 Strikes, 2 Balls

Marmol for Closer!

I'd rather see him in the toughest spot, whether that be the 7th, 8th, or pulling 2 inning duty sometimes. He's unhittable right now.

looking forward to reading the AP recap on this one. Yesterday's started out "Milwaukee showed why they are first in the NL central". It made me sick.

marmol's stuff was so gross today, fielder and hall just had no chance at all and hardy always gets lucky against us.

he looked a bit like k-rod out there.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Good to see Theriot get it going again.

yeah, but this performance today better not get him any more unnecessary playing time. theriot is not an everyday player in any s4ense of the word.

As long as he's hitting, he should start, but once he stops hitting, bench him for a while.

Yup. Keep Theriot rested-it looks like his bat is better when that's the case. Hopefully DeRosa can take over SS and Theriot can spell him every few days for either a day off or a day when DeRosa moves to another position.

It's crazy what the media (local and national) does... They win 1 out of 3, and trail the Cubs in the season series 7-5, and somehow the Cubs are portrayed as chumps. :x

Locally it pisses me off every time I hear a sports radio host say "but the Cubs lost 2 of 3 to the Rangers..." Then they turn around and praise the Brewers (even though they also lost 2 of 3 to the Rangers).

Anyway, GREAT 5-1 homestand

i don't think he should be "benched", but i don't think he should play every day either, even if he's had a good game the day before. i don't mind him at short, but if derosa can play there everyday, he should start. his bat is too valuable.

Great game for us. We needed this win and we came up big. I'm starting to enjoy watching this team. Ever since Lou has benched Jones and Izturis for the most part this team has been much more enjoyable to watch. With Fontenot doing well, our bullpen being, rock solid, our starting pitching good and our offense consistent we've done very well. If we can keep this up WC or the division could be in our grasp.

Yeah I was surprised at how well Marquis pitched.

Oh, and Marmol was freaking unhittable. Nice to see.
