Acquiring Jones is a decent idea for a team desperate for some offense. He'll be cheap, dollars(assuming we're picking up most of it) and talent wise and has the potential to be the player he was last year. Not an all-star, but a pretty good ballplayer for a paltry sum. It's low risk-decent reward.

 

Absolutely. If we're paying his salary, why not?

So is this a rumor as it says in the title or is it a confirmed deal?

The only reason it's a rumor is because I don't have confirmation besides myself.

 

It's a done deal though.

 

Did your sources say done deal or did they say it had been agreed on?

 

Money may be the delay here if the later is the case.

The Marlins had Alfredo Amezega and (for awhile) Reggie Abercrombie playing CF. They needed some help. While Jacque doesn't walk and throws like a girl, he still has posted some decent offensive numbers that would be an upgrade over what they have now.

I'm going to go ahead and assume for now this rumor is true.

 

When I get home tonight and turn on the game I better not see him in the Cubs dugout.

The miami board had another poster that said the trade is for a single a pitcher. not sure where he heard that but i guess that means at least 2 posters claim to know about the trade on their board.

That's not true. He may have said the Cubs want him gone, or everyone thinks he will be gone. I've had the Score on all afternoon.
