I'll be pissed if Cotts is recalled. He has done nothing, zero, nada, @ Iowa to deserve a callback to the big leagues. He can take his 7.333 ERA @ AAA and find a job at Arby's. Edited by Soriano12

This idea from the Tribune is feasible.

Options include moving Wade Miller to the 60-day disabled list and calling up someone like Pignatiello, who has a 2.49 ERA at Iowa, or Double-A left-hander Jeremy Blevins, who has a 0.98 ERA with 24 strikeouts at Tennessee.

Bush called Pignatiello "a candidate," and Piniella said Pignatiello was suggested as a call-up when Gallagher was summoned.

Wow, crack reserach by the Tribune. His name is Jerry Blevins, not Jeremy. Anyways, I'd LOVE to see either called up, though I'd probably be one of the few here to favor Jerry. If they want a "long man," Carmen is their guy.

Agreed. The guy didn't even deserve to make the team out of spring training. Our bullpen has done better lately, last thing we want to do is make it worse by bringing back guys who suck.

I'm surprised that there is no noise on this part of the transaction yet. They said they were going to 12 pitchers today-whoever that pitcher is, he has to be on his way to Chicago, and I'm surprised that hasn't been reported yet, even if the report doesn't include who is going to leave to make room on the roster.

Some people said they were, but I think Randy Bush, asst GM, is quoted saying it's not necessarily going to happen.

If so, that tells me a trade is in the works and they don't want to be pressured into making a move they don't like due to a deadline of going back to 12 pitchers tonight.
