NONE OF YOU BLAME DEMPSTER OR BARRETT.

WE GOT SCREWED IN THE FIRST INNING

WE SHOULDNT BE AT THIS POINT

Forget that. The Cubs blew it in the top of the eighth. Bases loaded, no outs and the Cubs get no runs. That shouldn't happen.

and a fricken lazer beam right at the third baseman.

that's not lack of ability, that's lack of luck.

Yeah this time, the fact remains that situation happens to the Cubs a lot.

this conversation is not about the state of the Cubs, it is about this game.

True. But, the state of the Cubs seems to parallel each individual game.

I'm depressed.

wow, Dempster picked a fine time to suck

That's the thing though. We are near 1st in many areas hitting and pitching. But it's usually ONE guy that totally BLOWS at the GOD DAMN WRONG TIME. It's friggen sickening. Just like tonite. We got screwed by the (d)umps, wasting all of our relievers, we scored some runs, then ONE GUY screws up. Not getting any runs in the 8th comes in a close second.

They do this consistently and yet I'm always shocked and angered. No idea why?

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Just when it looks like the cubs will overcome adversity and win a big game, they screw it up. Bases loaded, no outs = no runs. Demp gves up 3 runs in the 8th. 1-2-3 ninth. classic.

I went from mad to excited to mad again. I hate you Cubs for doing this to me.

That never changes. Cubs will always give you hope, but let you down in the end.

I hope everyone enjoyed the dream of being four games back of the Brewers, because the stupid Cobs won't be this close again. You can bank on that.

Naw. They will get closer, only to blow it.

This game should have been played under protest. Nice one, Lou.

Yeah, it probably should have. But what exactly would that ultimately accomplish? I've never seen a win taken away from a team.

I won't go that far. I still think the Cubs will win the division. The Brewers aren't infallible. Plus, they play the Tigers and Twins this week after loosing a series against the Rangers. They have their own problems.

I agree, but 3/4 would've been so sweet!

What does not playing under protest accomplish? Our bullpen is frakked either way, but at least that way we get to give blue the finger.

Oh well it sucks, but just gotta hope Z goes deep in tomorrow game to give the pen a rest. As much as losing sucks, everyone else in the central feels the same way. This division will be decided head to head. No need to sweat it until then....

The thing is I'm usually annoyingly optimistic with the Cubs. Just with this game it just seemed there were force who did everything they could to force us to lose.

Go Cubs! Beat the 'stros.

By the way, I have a choice of tickets for Thursday's game against the Mariners or Friday versus the Padres.

Which would you choose?

I took the Thursday Mariners' game. But, I still have time to change my mind and switch. My thinking is that I'm afraid the Padres' pitching will just shut down the Cubs.

It's not just this game. How many games have we seen this year alone that was similar.

well, if it means anything, it's only dempster's 2nd blown save.

(out of an estimated 33 blown saves come the end of the season)

Maybe thats why I'm so angry about this game. All the other ridiculous calls finally got me just annoyed as anything. I really haven't been this mad since Game 6.
