It appears as if the Cubs won't face John Smoltz on Sunday afterall.

Link.

Atlanta Braves veteran right-hander John Smoltz will miss his scheduled start Sunday against the Chicago Cubs...The Braves recalled pitcher Buddy Carlyle from Triple-A Richmond to start Sunday against the Cubs.

Also, the Braves put Cormier back on the DL.

Come on Cubs-you have to be favored tomorrow night now, and you're not that big of an underdog tonight. You have to go ahead and grab 1 of these 2 and take the season series from the Braves.

This is good because we don't have to face Smoltz. This is bad because we DO have to face a career AAAA guy, and you know what that means.

7 IP, 4H, 1 ER, something like that.

The Cubs man-handled Cormier twice so they can beat the Carlyle tomorrow too. BTW, he's pitched against PHI, MIL, and FLA this year so they should have some good scouting information too.
