Living here in St. Louis I get into a lot of these discussions...here is something interesting from an e-mail chain I was in today:

 

Did you know…your (St.Louis) record against teams that are currently over .500 is 3-14.

 

That's pretty telling.

 

The Cubs are 15-17. That tells me two things…you guys have been awful against good teams, and the Cubs have had a MUCH tougher schedule to date…

We've (Cubs) played 32 of our 58 games against winning teams…

you (Cards) guys have played 17 of your 57 games against winning teams…

 

Is there reason for optimism to be found in those numbers?

Has the Cards played San Diego yet? I am thinking a lot of the difference is probably Milwaukee and San Diego.

 

They haven't played atlanta either...

Pads took 2-3 in early May

 

Ok so its Milwaukee and Atlanta making up the brunt of this then.
