where the crap was that all last year

Last year he was suffering from a severe case of Dustyitis, which carried over. Maybe Dr. Joshua can successfully cure him of it. I hold out some hope for him because he did look good in his 2005 callup.

Notes:

 

- Larry Suarez (Cubs big signing in Latin America last summer) struggled in the start.

- Harol Torentino (18-year old Dominican) was impressive, topping out at 96 and showing much better control than previously at ExST.

- Recent DFE signing Jovan Rosa went 2/4 with a stolen base and played some nice defense at third base.

- RHP Donny Walters (2006 30th rounder) was supposedly promoted to Peoria, no news on who was sent down.

Veal doesn't get out of the 6th: 5.1 IP, 3 ER, 8 H, 4 K/2 BB - he left with the bases loaded but Grant Johnson got the final two outs of the inning without allowing any more runs in.

Birmingham has taken a 5-4 lead in the 12th inning right now.

 

Daytona lost 9-5. Rough outing for Koerber. Colvin went 2/5 with no Ks.

 

Peoria is breaking this game wide open. They hit around in the bottom of the 8th to open up a 9-1 lead. Papelbon was great in relief, getting 4 Ks in 3 IP.

Donny Walters now in to pitch for Peoria in the 9th, making his minor league season debut today. Sounds like Al Alburquerque was sent down to extended in Mesa to make room for Walters.

Still at extended, when he does pitch in Mesa he still has control issues.
