this is probably a pointless post, but i have had a discussion a couple of times recently with my roommate...he thinks that it is bollocks that the pitcher is allowed to block the plate...scratch that...illegal?...he says that you can't block any of the other plates, so you shouldn't be able to block home...

 

i have never heard this from someone before...

 

i think it is a great aspect of the game, and i would never like to see it any different...am i alone here?

 

are there other people out there that feel the same way that he does!?!!?

Blocking other bases isn't illegal, you're just more likely to get injured blocking 1st-3rd and most often tagging the base instead of the runner will get out unlike plays at the plate.

 

Watching a C blocking the plate is a fun part of the game to watch when executed.
