I hate nearly every player on this team.

I hope we lose every game for the rest of the year and clean total house when the new owners show up, even our great players must go. Try and get as much value as possible, and eat some of the losses.

Wait for the FA market to start getting new players. Please mix OBP in as much as humanly possible.

I'd like to impose a rule that if you have more than ten innings or fifty ABs with the Cubs in the last five years, you cannot play for the Cubs ever again.

Also, the Chicago media will not get any interviews or questions from the team, manager, or front office. Only out of towners can ask questions. Fans can't speak with the team either.

The new players need to not know what it is to be the cubs.

I'm assuming that Hill, Lilly, Marquis, Guzman, Marmol, Theriot, Lee, Wuertz, Marshall and Ramirez won't be traded.

Zero trade value: Eyre, Izturis, Blanco, Miller. If the Cubs want these guys off the team they'll have to eat most of their salary.

Little trade value: Howry (unless he starts pitching like he did last year), Jones, Ohman, Floyd, Pagan, Ward (though Jones, Floyd or Ward could get a mid-level prospect from a team looking for bench help)

Moderate trade value: DeRosa (probably little to moderate), Dempster (if he keeps throwing well - teams get desperate for bullpen help), Barrett, Murton (should be kept, but Cubs apparently don't like him)

High trade value: Zambrano if he comes around

I think Izturis will have some value. He's been solid for the past month or so, and his defense could be attractive to some GM's.

His defense is actually pretty bad. He ranks near or below 20th in MLB for starting SSs in RF, ZR, and fld%. I'm sure there's a few GMs that still think his defense is good from when they saw him play 4-5 years ago, so there's hope.

Okay, so the original post was way overblown and full of energy. You may now turn your sarcasm meters off.

In all reality, we're in trouble. We need to move alot of our middle of the road players to become a good team in any respect. We have stars like Lee and Aram, and a few promising guys like Murton and Theriot, and DeRosa is a fine utility guy who hits well enough, but the rest of the team is either overpaid so badly its gonna kill us (Blanco, Soriano, Jones), or aging dinosaurs of the game who used to be great (Floyd, Soriano again).

We need to decide if we'd rather make a weak stab at the playoffs this year and get passed by the rest of the division the next 4 years, or if we have a yard sale and get what we can from our guys, maybe parting with a good player to elevate the overall ability of the team.

I'm for sacking a year that already blows, forgoing any loyalty to players, and creating a new team around two or three guys. Then we can begin to improve with youth and younger guys, reversing the alarming rate at which we're getting older with less OBP.

Time to sell the farm and buy the one next to it.

Normally after all the losing I'd give up, but when you've actually gained a game on the Brewers and are only 5 GB it's too early to wave the flag.

This team's pitching is strong enough (if Z gets right) that we could go into the playoffs hot and win it all.

A new, smart owner & GM can clean up the old mess real quick.
