I woulda thought the Marmol conversion to bullpen would have come after some failures, he's been doing awesome so far....

Anyway, great to see that start by Marshall. 12-8 GO-FO isn't terrible either.

Maybe they are getting ready to bring up Marmol and move some trash from the big league bullpen?

Wieters will make Barrett expendable.

you're assuming the cubs are smart enough to draft wieters, which clearly they aren't. josh vitters will make casey mcgehee expendable, however.

The Cubs might not be. But Wilken is IMO. All depends on how much clout Wilken holds concerning this first pick.

It's pretty much Wilken's call since signability shouldn't be an issue.

uh, anyone know why Marmol left after recording 2 outs in the 9th? I saw that he hit someone - hoping he got tossed rather than injured. It was a 9-1 game, so I can't imagine they would've pulled him at that point. And for the record, I support him being moved to the pen.
Maybe he was yanked because he just got called up to the Cubs to replace Eyre.
Half right.
