There are a couple really interesting options sitting on the waiver wire right now. I have Alex Gordon at third and Dan Uggla at 2B... Morgan Ensberg (3B) and BJ Upton (2B, 3B) are both sitting on the waiver wire for anybody who's interested.

 

Gordon's starting off real slow, and I've never been a believer in Uggla. Is either one of those guys a real upgrade though?

I'd hold off on Ensberg, but I'd pick up Upton in a heartbeat.

 

Right now he's getting fewer AB's than Uggla, but if he keeps performing, the at-bats will come.

I picked up Upton 2 weeks ago off FA because Josh Barfield jsut wasn't producing enough. I haven't regretted it since.

Upton is a must-get if available. It was just a couple of years ago that he was the #1-rated prospect in baseball, and he's starting to live up to the billing.

I'm thinking of putting in a claim that would drop Uggla for Upton, but I'm pretty sure the guy with #1 waiver priority already has his eye on him.

Alex Gordon's starting to put it together. He's going to have a monster May.

 

Is he? His gamelog suggest he hasn't put together a 3 piece puzzle in the last month. He hasn't even reached the mendoza line yet. I drafted him in the last round of my draft and subsequently dropped him for Upton about half a month ago.

 

I'm keeping an eye on him, but when would everyone think would be a good time to pull the trigger and pick him up? When he boosts his average up to .250? Hits 5HR?
