for the record, i'd have preferred that marquis swung away there... he strikes out very infrequently for a pitcher (just 25 times in 165 ABs the last two years) and I think there's a better chance of scoring the run if he doesn't bunt

Geez. Does Murton swing at every first pitch now or what? He's quickly becoming Alou.

I'll take Matt=Alou.

At least Moises was good for a big homer once in a while.

Felix swings at too much high crap. Oh well - he'll learn.

Baker took CPatt and Pie aside and showed them the way to be a good ML hitter.

Its really fortunate that Pie came up this year and not when Dusty was here. The difference between these guys is palpable, and I strongly suspect this team is at least in part still hungover from Dusty's teachings.

alou is better than murton

He wasn't really arguing that Matt is as good a hitter as Alou, was he? I'd be satisfied if he put 2/3 of Alou's nos. during his prime years.

At this rate, Marquis will reach 100 pitches in the 4th inning. We could still use a good outing by him but I don't think it's gonna happen.
