hey everybody...murton went 0-1. a lot of other guys went 0-4.

0-1 is much better. He is on the All Star track this year, no doubt.

yeah, that's what i said.

on that note, i'll leave the game thread to you whiny babies.

I don't understand why noone ever calls you out on your constant name calling.

What other point were you making with your statement? 0-1 or 0-4 it is all horrible.

Murton isn't the reason we lost, but someone needs to tell the guy to take a pitch when he is pinch hitting. It's at least the second time he's swung at the first pitch he's seen after sitting on the bench for 3 hours. How about working the count into your favor for a change? Murt showed good patience in ST, I wonder where it's gone?

I can't defend his name-calling here. But seems like a lot of people jumping all over Murton for going 0-1 here. I'd guess abuck's point is that a lot of starters sucked today, so why is Murton taking all the blame? B/c he popped out in a pinch-hit AB at the end of the game? Sounds a lot like the ARod-bashing Yankee fans from last year that a lot of people made fun of around here. Murton isn't the reason the Cubs lost today, he's a very small fraction of the reason we lost.

Somewhere Dusty is laughing is arse off!

At least I have faith that Lou will take care of these problems. He won't defend Cedeno for stupid play. All Cedeno had to do was look in at the plate once to find out he had walked.

Who will hit a HR first? Lee or Soriano? My money' on Soriano even from the DL (we all know he's going to end up there with a pulled hamstring).

Hopefully he gets sent down ASAP.

I made a huge mistake in picking both of them on my HR Derby team. Both of them are really holding me back.

Well, I was going to buy tickets for Sunday's game but I just called the guy and said forget it. This team isn't worth my money or time.

You've given up?

How can you blame him?

I'm just asking. LOL, I have tickets to some up coming games; the first is 5/10 and I think RIch will be pitching so I'm going.

wasn't here for the game, but i saw blanco get mauled by molina. seemed very unsportsmanlike to me - he was going to get his interference call, anyway - there is no need to grab blanco like he did. i wouldn't be surprised to see him get drilled tomorrow. if i were lou, i'd say go for it if molina wasn't such a terrible hitter.

Not giving up, but with Miller pitching and the Cubs sucking right now I don't feel like spending money on a game that will make me miserable. Play better ball and I'll go to more games.

Didn't catch too much of the early part. But for heaven's sake. Doesn't it seem like it's always ONE or TWO guys in every game they loose that is doing something to SCREW the team?

Whether it's Zambrano giving up 5 in the 6th. Eyre giving up 3 and not able to hold a lead. Murton having brain farts over at 3rd and not taking an EASY run at home. Cedeno being a dumbo and sliding over a damn base after a walk.

I mean, MY GOD, I am tired of this ####!! This is BAD BASEBALL. It's exactly why the cubs are loosing close games and that the only way they can win is if they put up ten runs on the board.

Yeah exactly. Don't make mistakes on the field. But also, this team needs to pitch and play like their life depended on it when they have a 1 run lead. And also when they have to catch UP to a 1 run lead. They are just not doing that.

As soon as the Cards got 2 runs, I said to my friends "Now watch the cubs bend over and take it up the. ."

don't have the video in front of me right now, but from what i remember, he grabbed him, throwing his left arm around blanco's neck and basically making it a big dramatic thing (that could have hurt hank).

Oh, I had no doubt the game was over. We never come back, if we do we give it back the next inning.

That's the frustrating thing. We NEVER come back and we NEVER (almost) hold a small lead. Even I thought we were so much better this year due to talent. But we are still miserable failures. Man I am so depressed.

That's a "take"? It sounds more like a simple recap. A take is usually an "opinion". Just a small rant.

I see it. Please don't mock me when I'm down, I've been fatigued and lethargic due to sickness.
