Is there a place online to find old standings as they were on the date you're looking up?

 

In other words, instead of finding the end-of-year standings for 2005 and 2006... can I look up where the Cubs were on a certain date in those years? Like a day-by-day database?

Go to mlb.com and their standings page. You'll be able to look up the standings by date all the way back to the 2002 season.

get into the game logs, click on a date --- you'll get scores from that day as well as the standings as of the close of that day. You have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find it.

 

 

retro sheet isn't as fancy as the other sites, but it's got tons of info.
