What are they crying about? My AM radio reception has been awful for the last couple of days so I havent been listening to the 2 Chicago Sports stations.

If its steriods, are they willing to cry about their DH.

I just came on to post this. Seriously, how classless can Guillen get? They just showed a clip on CSN where a reporter asked him something along the lines of if he had anything to say to sammy or something. And his response was "Be ready, Sammy, You're gonna get hit"

I hope someone kicks that man square in the balls. How many classless things can he say before the sox can his butt.

Goat - I believe you misunderstood Guillen's words. His quote was analyzed to death on AM 1000 and the conclusion reached was that Ozzie was defending his decision to walk Texeira and pitch to Sosa and that he would do it again - hence "Be ready Sammy, you're going hit."

If you look at the other quotes recently attributed to Guillen regarding Sosa, he has been nothing but supportive of him. IMO, this quote is being taken out of context in an effort by the media to stir things up.

Ozzie Guillen supports Sammy Sosa like George Bush supports freedom.

Ozzie Guillen might be reaching. Just as the White Sox manager wanted fans on the South Side to welcome back former Sox great Frank Thomas when the Oakland Athletics came to town last season, Guillen now is asking for the same warmth for Texas Rangers outfielder Sammy Sosa.

One major difference: Sosa was a one-time Sox player, longtime Cubs enemy, as far as the South Side is concerned.

''Sammy did a good thing for the city,'' Guillen said. ''I'm not going to say Sammy put the city back on the map, but he might have. Every time we wear a uniform, the Cubs or the White Sox, we represent Chicago. We don't represent the North Side, the South Side or the West Side. We represent the city.''

Unlike Jim Thome's situation in Cleveland, Sox fans have had a recent history of welcoming back their own -- even those who left for free agency such as Thomas and Robin Ventura. But Sosa was Public Enemy No. 1 as a member of the Cubs, which will be a hard sell for Guillen.

''All the stuff he did out there, corked bat? He's not the first one to use it,'' Guillen said. ''The thing they accuse him? We don't know.

''Sammy do more good stuff in baseball than bad stuff, and we have to respect that. The Cubs should be proud of him. I'm not going to say they treat him bad, but a lot of people turn their back on him when he need it. Maybe that's his own fault.''

Yes it does.

''I will walk Teixeira and pitch to Sammy Sosa every day of the year,'' Guillen said. ''Teixeira isn't going to beat me. Sammy, be ready because you have to hit.''

Yes, this thread is silly, but my comment wasn't concerning whether or not Guillen ordered a hit-job on Sosa, it was towards the assertion that Guillen has 'supported' Sammy Sosa. Not that I expect him to either support Sosa or not, but I think it's kind of ridiculous to say that he supports him. I'm pretty sure Guillen could care less about Sammy Sosa when he's not burning him for a game decision and all the Chicago Media have tons of wonderfully irrelevant questions to ask him.

That being said, it's pretty safe to say that Sosa is going to grab some pine 4 times out of 5 in that situation. Guillen played the percentages and got burned, it happens.

In my opinion, it seems kind of foolish to make something out of nothing with Guillen's comments, when he's a virtual minefield of criticism when it comes to managing a baseball team. Spend your energies criticizing things that are worth criticizing, not fabricating scandals.
