A smaller, 10 team league among friends, and I just traded Julio Lugo for Dan Haren, so I need a new 2B.

On the waiver wire is Kendrick, Kinsler, and Upton.

Who should I choose and why?

Kinsler. Should be hitting in the front of that order soon. Great hitters park.

Get smarter friends too :D

No way, I'm gonna carry this league!

Depends on what you're looking for.

If you want to look at this on a continuum from power to speed, Kinsler would fall on the power side, Upton on the speed, and Kendrick right in the middle.

You'll get a good number of HR and RBI from Kinsler, good SB from Upton, and good average and decent everything else from Kendrick.

Personally, I'd lean towards Kendrick... but if you really need SB or HR & RBI, Upton or Kinsler might be your man.

I don't think I'll be lacking in power or steals...so I'll go with Kendrick I think.

Unless anyone voices any reasonable objections.

if I didn't have to drop Kendrick to pick up Rich Hill, I'd likely have all 3 on my team in one of my leagues because I too play with morons.

I have Upton and Kinsler though. Kinsler's been solid, plus he'll be great if he remains healthy. He could put up some seriously solid numbers. He can potentially put up 15-20HR (maybe more), double digit steals, good RBI numbers, and a modest average.

I like Kinsler, personally, but honestly all 3 are good pick ups. I think Upton, however might have the most upside, he could hit for power and has speed, but it's his first year and you'll never know how he performs. Kinsler is more of a sure thing, IMO

rich hill was undrafted??? I just can't have fun with fantasy leagues if it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

Rich Hill was drafted, but he was dropped because the guy doesn't like having Cubs on his team. This type of moronic thinking also let me pick up Rich Harden and Delmon Young, who were dropped because the guy looked at their last year stats and thought they sucked and didn't piece together that Young was called up in September and Harden was injured... I also considered picking up Borowski after someone dropped him in favor of a middle reliever.

However I do play in a league with people who have played the last 2 years with me, it's just the newcomers who are ignorant.

I'd probably go Kendrick. If Kinsler gets moved up to a better RBI/R spot in the lineup, he might be the better choice, but hitting 9th is going to hurt him a little.

As everyone has said, all of those guys should be owned in almost every league, so it doesn't really matter.
