Your favorite 2007 minor league promotions

The local team (State College Spikes) just released their promotional schedule and there are some great things in there. They are continuing their parade of C-List celebrity appearances (which, for some reason, were extremely popular last year) with visits from Butch Patrick and Anson Williams.

 

But my favorite is on the 3rd game of the season. The Spikes new manager is former Pirate Turner Ward, a player famous for running through the outfield wall at 3-Rivers on a fly ball. So the Spikes have made Turner Ward "Bobble Walls" for the first 2000 fans. I want one so bad.

Turner Ward! I remember a time when I was a little kid and I saw him hit a homerun with the Brewers. That caused me to choose him as my favorite Brewer. Thank you for reminding me of him.

tickets went on sale this morning. Based on last year, only opening night will sell out. I went last year, but had a ticket package (which I couldn't get this year because i work weekends now). I plan on going to at least 8-10 games this year though.
