How should we deactivate pitchers so that we do not exceed the 7 start limit?

Can we have illegal rosters? Too many reserved? Too many on injured reserve? Rotate pitchers in from the bench who are not starting?

So, if I understand what's being said correctly, you can switch out starting pitchers during the week, and mix and match however you want as long as you don't exceed 7 starts?

yes. you cannot exceed roster limits though - ie if you have an extra reserve, you have to have an SP spot empty.

I think I follow that. Although it really doesn't matter at this time, since I only have 5 (healthy) starters. :D

So what if I accidentally exceed the 7 start limit?

You will be shot at dawn. Also, all starts exceeding 7 will not count.

ok, thanks for the info.

Next question. A guy I had counted on as a relievr was sent to the minors. What is the process to add another player?

There is no process - just go to free agents and get whoever you want. if the player is on waivers, then you will have to wait until Saturday to see if you get him or not (there will be an asterisk by his name if he is on waivers).

For the record, I'm screwed in the reliever column.

There's a trade out there waiting for you

Yeah, and I'll get bit either way. If I trade Harden he'll do well. If I keep him, his arm will fall off on his first pitch.

I sure hope Tim didn't propose Harden for a reliever.

Since I'm already hoping for injury free, might as well acquire Duchscherer for the time being and hope for the best. Hey, maybe Clemens will come back after all.

Do we get a last meal and cigarette???:)

Will you be checking our scores each sunday night, or will it be up to the opposing player to register a complaint with the commish???

The offender should also be limited to 6 starts the next week as a sanction (similar to NCAA sanctions against schools that violate the rules). :D

Yes, unless the team draws well and has a big tv following, then I will look the other way.

I probably won't be able to check every game.

Now it's definitely sounding more like NCAA :thumright:

I remember being told to never trade with Tim when I first joined the league...

I may have been the one who told you :pl: but one of the worst decisions I made last year was not to trade Randy Johnson to Tim for Ervin Santana and another top pitching prospect (I can't remember who). I should have...... :x

Tim is in the division, which also forces me to use caution. However, Conor Jackson would be nice in my lineup.

Valverde + Conor Jackson.

We might need to talk.

If I were Chris, I'd take the Jackson + Hughes offer that's been on the table, but that's just me. :)
