When does Baseball Tonight return to ESPN nightly?

Isnt Dusty on that? I wouldn't recommend it at all, unless you're in for a good laugh.

Yup, I'm into comedy. I'm also a discerner of good baseball information, so I can tune him out, dude!

"I know the Cubs are 20 games above .500 this early in the season, but I still think they made a big mistake letting go of Neifi Perez."

I don't pay much attention to the analysis that they offer, but I can't not watch a half hour of baseball highlights.

Exactly. And the Peter Gammons moments are worth every penny.

It doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother others. At a certain level, I'm interested in all teams, but am more eager to hear bad news about the Yankees than to hear anything about the Red Sox. I just like Peter Gammons is all.

the problem is they don't show highlights any more. you used to get highlights of every game - now you get a few games and endless babble by a bunch of idiots.

That's what I was thinking. I don't watch it much anymore, but it seems to basically just be a series of hokey segments and gimmicks like web gems and other nonsense. When I was a little younger (5 years ago) we used to go to bars several weeknights in a row, and I remember just staring at baseball tonight highlights the whole time. It was a great way to get caught up on a full day's worth of games.

i watch ESPNEWS for the highlights. There's no analysis, just runs through all the games every half hour. <3

Agreed. ESPNEWS is probably the channel I most watch. It's constantly on my TV... Usually when nothing else is on... Which is common. The thing is, they have to fit it under a half hour... So analyze = no no.

Dibble on his XM show trashes ESPN with regularity. Said that in the production meetings they were telling him what to say, then telling one the others to say the opposite. And yes, they are very NE corridor centered.

haha. I'd prolly die of laughter if he said, "I don't like how the (insert team name here) hitters walk so much, they're just clogging up the bases. Neifi Perez always did a great job of not clogging the bases."
