Marquis vs Vargas

Marquis is a right-handed thrower, but a LH batter.

pitch one: ball (outside)

pitch two: foul to left and out of play

pitch three: bouncer to second.

Chavez drops the ball, everyone safe. Bases loaded.

E-6.

Colvin comes through!

Does Colvin have a shot at making the team if we go with 11 pitchers? Or who would be the 25th man behind Floyd, Ward, Theriot, Pagan, and Blanco?

No, he needs to go and work on his game instead of sitting around on the bench. The Cubs have bigger plans for him...

Colvin will probably be sent out early to join his minor-league team (probably Peoria). He's looked good here. As is the case with many No. 1 picks, he got the ST invite as part of his deal. Baseball people I've talked to really like him.

Seems like he needs to work on his patience at the plate though.

That's encouraging although, I now have faith in the Cubs scouts (with Wilken on board).
