nothing interesting yet, rehashing old stuff (Hendry in the hospital).

Pretty much just happy upbeat Lou laying out the company line.

Talking up Soriano's skills.

Prior pitching game 5 of exhibition schedule. We're going to let him pitch just like everybody else.

Lou is the man. Got to love his optimism. I'm also glad he was able to tell the nation that Prior is fine!

The nation ain't buying it. Prior will have to start 25+ games this year before people start believing again.

There's no doubt about it but you can't argue that Prior starting a ST game isn't news. Good news.

I thought it was funny when Wilbon was like "When will Prior be ready? Late May? Sometime in June? when"

And Lou got all defensive like "Hey, hey, he's fine!"

For spring trianing games that arent going to be on Tv, is there anyway to see or hear them? Will they be on the radio, or do you have get mlb.tv to watch them?

Good news, yes. Meaningful in the grand scheme of things? Not in and of itself.

I'm not arguing that at all. I'm in danger of exploding with optimism if Prior gets off to a decent start in spring training games. I'm just saying that the national audience isn't buying it. Far too many people drafted him in fantasy baseball expecting more. I think the typical thought is similar to my friends' yesterday at a hangover solving diner breakfast. One guy basically said "When is Prior going to decide to not be a pu***?" And the other guys just assumed he'd miss most of the season. I didn't really get into it, as I was concentrating on my chocolate chip pancakes. But that's how they think.

Going by past history only, I know that all of the games aren't on TV or radio. If you would just like to listen you could get Gameday Audio for the full year for get MLB.TV which allows you the option to watch or listen only (because Gameday Audio is included free).

I agree. I'm hoping he quiets his critics this year.

Maybe it changed from last year, but I bought MLB.TV early expecting to get all the spring training games, but then was only able to watch the games that were already on TV.

So I wouldn't suggest it.

This year MLB.TV will show over 150 games.

Yes, but how many are Cubs games?

Last year, just the ones that were on TV anyway.

NO idea because the schedule of games, they will have, hasn't been released yet. In all fairness, the Cubs didn't offer a lot of games locally last ST. The 14 televised games this year is a record.

I may be totally wrong, but I think with the Gameday Audio you only get games that are broadcast on WGN radio anyways. So if you live within range of 720 you won't get to listen to any extra games.

Gameday Audio allows you to listen to the home or away feed.

ahhh yes. Forgot about that. It is deceiving though, because I remember on the schedules they include a link for mlb.tv on all the spring training games, when in reality they only show the few that are televised somewhere, which most aren't.

This year MLB.TV will show over 150 games.

If you just take ALL the teams, devide by half (teams facing eacthother) and only add up the # of fridays, sat. and sundays in march. You'll get well over 150. And the Cubs games are already being broadcast on the weekends mainly.

I'm in the same boat as balsa. Now according to Laura, XM radio will be airing alot of the games NOT on Wgn/comcast TV or wgn radio. So that would be the way to go. .

There's a broadcast schedule in the Game Threads Forum for Cubs spring training games.

There's one game -- March 20 vs Colorado -- that will be televised by FSN (CO) and not locally in Chicago. I'd guess that would be picked up by MLB.tv, but that can't be confirmed until they get around to issuing a schedule.

There are seven games that will have no local Chicago radio broadcast but will have an opposing team radio broadcast. XM has three of those games listed on their current schedule. One game is a Giants' broadcast that's listed as 'MLB.com,' so it may be available over the internet. In the past, Gameday audio has picked up all the official spring training broadcasts, but they don't have a schedule available yet, either.

The Diamondbacks are going to have 11 games broadcast over the radio, but they haven't released the info as to which games yet.

Currently there are 7 games with no broadcasts of any kind:

March 6 vs Milwaukee

March 7 vs Oakland

March 9 ss vs Texas (other ss game vs San Diego will have a SD broadcast carried by XM)

March 13 vs Arizona (may possibly be an Arizona broadcast for this game)

March 19 (ss) vs Seattle and (ss) vs Texas - neither game will be broadcast

March 28 vs Colorado

Maybe we can get a Bruce-cast for some of those games!
