Anyone know if the new media guide is out yet? When does it usually come out? I usually stay at the hotel the Cubs do in Denver, but heard last year they were switching hotels.

They're often available at spring training games. NC's list of hotels from last year is in the FAQ forum; he'll get a new list up once the '07 media guide is out.

So you're volunteering me, huh? (j/k; I was planning to anyway.)

Last year I got mine at a spring training game I attended; in previous years I've ordered it by phone. One of the issues of VineLine usually has the phone number. It would be helpful if it were available through the Cubs' web site, but it hasn't been in previous years.

Jeff Vorva / The Daily Southtown[/url]"]

The Cubs' media guide came out Monday, and Alfonso Soriano, Derrek Lee, Piniella, Carlos Zambrano and Aramis Ramirez grace the cover.

The man with the most biographical information is Wood, who has 6½ pages dedicated to him. Soriano is second with six.

On a slow day for talk, I could see hours of conversation being built around theorizing why certain guys get more space than others.

The media guide can be ordered by calling the Cubs' merchandise department (1-800-248-9467), even though it won't be available until next week (I believe it's usually available at Spring Training before it is through the merchandise department). The cost is $21.95 including shipping (I may be slightly off, but I know it's close to that at least). That seems a bit higher than in past years, but it still seems well worth it.

Thanks, I will be ordering one.

I got my copy today. As in the past it includes road hotel information. I'll update that information in the FAQ forum within the next couple of days.

Wanna give me a quick answer to where they are staying at in Arlington, TX?

Four Seasons (972-717-0700).

Also, when I edit it I'll move it back to Baseball Discussions for the season, since that's where people will probably think to look. Thanks to Serena (er, Laura :D ) for that suggestion.

Thanks. That's funny that they are staying all the way in Dallas. That's going to be a 30 minute drive for them to get to the park. Most teams either stay at the Worthington in Fort Worth.

They used to stay in that Marriot (may have changed names) right across the pond from the Ballpark.

Yeah, it's a Wyndam (sp?) now. Most of the teams moved from there, though a few like the A's still stay there.
