Just sign Z now and sign Santana when he is a free agent.

Man, one big offseason and already y'all are starting to sound like Yankee fans.

It's fun to dream. Imagine the things you could do with a payroll of 150-170?

If you were Bill Stoneman in Anaheim, what would you trade for Santana?

I'd certainly be willing to go Santana, Aybar, and McPherson.

That won't get you close. Santana's getting expensive & McPherson is done.

It'd take more than that, as I'm sure the Angels would probably offer Ervin Santana and Brandon Wood.

Hill, Veal, Gallagher, and Pie might get the conversation started.

I still think there is no way in the world that the twins will ever trade Satana. He is the best pitcher in the majors and he's still decently young. I don't think they would trade for younger talent with a team that is still decently young.

Although for Z im skeptical of us netting a top notch bevy of talent back, I'm fairly certain the Twins can pretty much name their package if they want to trade Santana either before the deadline this season or next offseason. They should defenitely get significantly more than the 2 picks they would get by letting him walk in two years. If the Twins don't think they can resign him (and they shouldn't be able to) then I dont think there is a way in the world that the twins DON'T trade Santana.

Yes, the twins are young right now, but I actually think that tips the balances towards trading Santana. Morneau and Cuddyer answered as sure things last year, we'll know one way or the other on Bartlett, Punto, and Kubel after this year. Similarly with their pitching, we should know more about the future of Garza and Bonser. Another year will answer a lot of the unknowns this young team has and allow the twins to focus on filling their needs in a Santana trade.

I hear that he's rather evil, though.
