Ok, I might need to "auto-assign" a few of the first rounds on sunday. I might not be available til about a half hour to an hour after it starts.

Does our league allow me to do that? I'll have to take a look around the website but I couldn't figure out how to do it last time I visited.

You can preset your player rankings. Whether you can come into the draft after a few rounds, I don't know.

I'm sure you can. I've been in some drafts where some members had to be late and took over from the autodraft once they arrived. Basically, autodraft kicks in after the time limit expires without a pick being made.

Someone help me set up this pre-draft. I am not going to be available for the 1st hour of the draft, and I will be watching the ST game on TV for the rest. I need to set it to autodraft. I don't want to do it, but I'll just have to.

I can't find my way around or figure out how to do it. I'm looking for "rounds" where I can select players. But it just gives me a list of all players, with pujous at the top ofcourse. Is that the list?

Click on the "Draft Central" tab.

Click on "Pre-Draft Rankings."

On the lefthand side of the screen, there will be a list of 25 players. The title of the list is "Pre-Draft Player Rankings List." Next to the title it says "Edit My Rankings." Click on that.

Now you see the tool that you use to rank players.

You rank players overall; you can't specify what round you'd want to take someone in. However, if you wouldn't want to pick a relief pitcher until the fourth round, though, just make sure you don't have a reliever ranked in your top 30.

Good luck!

That is the right list. Just to expand on what cheapseats said, at the top, change the "Top 25" drop-down menu to Top 500. There will be over 200 total players drafted in our league, so you'll want to be sure to rank about that many (though, if you don't, Y! will use its default rankings for the rest of your picks).

Is there a certain place we need to go to do the live draft? Will it be like a chat room type thing with a list or will it be e-mail notifications? Also, how long do we have to take our picks?

I've never done a live Yahoo draft before. I don't want to misso ut on being in a specific place at the right time and end up having my pre-drafts go into effect, especially since I'm not making any

Go to the main page where your league is-about half an hour before the draft starts, there will be a link that says your live draft is going-you click that, and a new window will pop up that will be sort of like a chat room and will be where you do the draft.

Our league starts April 1.

I don't understand your second Q.

Well my question is don't we need to set up our line-up? When I goto my first match up, it shows mine and his pitchers on the bottom column. And mine and his "starters" and "bench". But I'm not sure if I can set my line up. Because it has my: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, but then it has Util, and BN, BN, BN all in the same "boxed in" area.

Don't I get to do some sort of tweaking? I want to create a line-up. But there are 12 players in that "box".

I don't know if you're looking at "drag and drop" or "classic" view, but you can change your starters (pitchers and offense) daily. You don't have to go to Edit Lineup to do it, you can just do it from your team page. Once that player's game starts on a particular day, you can't change his position (either the position he's starting, or from the bench to starter), but you can change anyone up to about 5 minutes before the game starts.

I still don't understand what you mean when you say there are 12 players in your box. You should be able to put whatever player you want into any position for which he is eligible (as indicated below his name).

Now I get your question. In fantasy, you don't set a "line-up" like a manager would. You just pick the players that are going to start. It doesn't matter what order they're in. You just get the stats that your starters put up in their games. So if Pierre goes 2/4, scores a run, steals a base, has 0 RBI and 0 HR on 1 day, you'll see a R, a SB, and a .500 AVG for that day. Over the course of the week, it'll total up R and compare them to the "team" you're playing (KMac in the first week). Whichever "team" has the most Rs will essentially get 1 W (on the main page, you'll see W-L-T, meaning wins, losses, ties). Same for RBI, HR, and SB. AVG will be the average of all your starters. Do the same for pitching stats.

At the end of the week, all of them will be compared and it'll basically be considered 10 "games" in a way. So if you have more R, RBI, and W, and a higher AVG and ERA than KMac in the first week, but that team has more HR, SB, S, Ks (from pitchers) and a higher WHIP, your teams will each be 5-5 after the first week.

If you click on your "Match-up" link from your home page during the week, it will show you how you are doing against the team you're playing. So if you are trying to decide whether to start Murton or Alou and you see that you are behind by 1 or 2 SBs, you'd probably choose Murton b/c he's more likely to get steals than Alou.

Match-ups run Sunday to Saturday.

Ok I see. Thanks alot! I'll toy with it a bit. I take it it adds up all the good stuff like SB, R, RBI, HR and whoever gets the most "points" gets a win? I still don't understand which stats I should focus on on the SP and RP yet, but I will learn as I go.

Is there a way we can rate our teams? I mean is there a website or does yahoo feature a rating system to see how you did compared to your league? If I had to guess I'd rate near the bottom.

I don't think so. I've never seen or heard of a site like that. But, as fun as it is to rate your team after a draft, I wouldn't put much stock into that rating. Things always look much different in September than they did in March.

By the way, guys, I am totally up for some crazy trading. I'm 1908fantasychampions, and I could definitely help some people out with pitching - or a speedy, high-SB outfielder.

Anybody I've got is available for the right price. Just let me know.
