Vance, you should submit your notes to the Tribune. I think Sunday had to have been the least-covered Cub convention day in history. 8-)

cubs.com[/url]"]During Sunday's "Meet Cubs Business Management" seminar, Mark McGuire, executive vice president of business operations, said prices for season ticket holders will stay the same. However, single-game tickets will increase $2 apiece, and the premium seats -- the Dugout Box, Bullpen Box and Bleacher Box seats -- will increase $5 apiece.

Thanks.

Furthermore, in private I asked McDonough about mending bridges with Sosa and he said he said that would be something that should happen. He said Sosa has made some indirect overtures toward that goal, but that he hadn't spoken to Sosa directly. He did acknowledge that the divorce from the Cubs with Sosa was a messy, but stated that "Sosa was one of the most powerful forces in baseball (not just the Cubs) over the past ten years" and stated it would be unfortunate if the Cubs didn't mend that bridge. When I stated that I'd love to see a flag with #21 on the fould poles along with those for Banks, Williams, Sandberg and Santo he said that someday in the future that should happen.

In my talks with McDonough, I was really impressed with him. I understand he's a marketing guy, so maybe he just knows how to spin things, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

I'll give him the benefit too. He does talk a good game.

Good stuff Vance.

Did nobody here who attended receive one of the Goat Riders photoshops I was distributing?

I know we gave some stuff to some guys who frequent the board, but I didn't catch their names.

I didn't get one. I saw you during the Meet the Management session and wanted to say hello, but I was hurrying off to the Sports Medicine session where I was unable to coax an answer about Wood or Prior from the team doctor.

BTW, the Trib says that Marquis is still welcome to take #21.

Yikes....good luck with that Marquis. Wait, he does have a shot at Sosa's 66 HR's though between hitting them and giving them up.

Very cool... I hope you enjoyed it. I was hoping that people who got Carlos could go and try to get it signed, but from what I understand, the Carlos line was amazingly long. On the bright side, I was able to give him a full-sized Scarlos.

And a big frown for the $2 raise in ticket prices. :x

"I got some stuff out of a teammate's locker."
