I would like to get involved in the Marcus Thames + an upper tier pitching prospect for Eyre. It's been rumored on Ben Maller and CBS Sportsline for awhile now that Detroit wants a late inning lefty reliever and I think if Hendry has something up his sleeve with getting rid of Jacque Jones contract, maybe we should keep him and shed the 2 years of Eyre's.

Also on Ben Maller I found it very interesting the Angels seemed intrigued on trading Chone Figgins for Pedro Feliz. I personally want in on that deal. We can do way better than Pedro Feliz. Chone Figgins at the top of the lineup with Soriano, Lee, Ramirez to follow would be stellar. Especially if Figgins could play shortstop reasonably well. Thoughts

I like both ideas. If Thames comes Soriano would have to move to CF most likely. If Figgins comes he could play CF or if Pie impresses Figgins could be our super-sub. Figgins brings someone who would bat in the 2 spot most likely while Thames would bat lower with the power he has. I like Figgins better out of the two.

No to figgins, hesitant on Thames. I'm pretty sure if we unload Jones, it would be to make room for Floyd. I don't think they're looking at getting major-league ready OFers in return. I wouldn't mind Thames if Soriano were willing to play center, though.

But definitely no to Figgins.

The only good thing about Thames, is that he is cheap. Otherwise, I don't really want Thames.

And Figgins, why not go after Tavares, if you want a non-power hitting OF, with speed, and nothing else? Or why not keep Juan Pierre? Again, no.

Reiterate my point: No to both players.

No thanks to a guy who had a career year as a 29 year old rookie. Last year was the first year he didn't play the majority of his games in the minors. And I don't think that he has much to add in the defense department. 27 hr's and 60 rbi's = a lot of solo shots. There is a reason detroit wants to get rid of this guy and thats because he has a slim chance to repeat even last years mediocre season.

Thames really slumped in the 2nd half. I think Detroit would be interested in JJones though. They could use a LH bat. We could probably get Thames and some prospects.
