A tragedy. Concolences to his family, friends, former teammates, etc.

 

He was originally known as Jose Gonzalez when he first came up, then became known as Uribe. The joke at the time was that he was the true "player to be named later." In more recent years the same thing happened with Ramon Nivar, who was originally known as Ramon Martinez (not to be confused with either the former pitcher, Pedro's brother, or the former Cub utility infielder).
