I'm not saying he should have won. But, I think he, at the least, deserved a 10th place vote on someone's ballot!

After reading your post, I went to look it up, and I couldn't find any rules. But, all of the vote totals is for just the top three as you say.

 

I could swear there were more.

MVP is top 10, I believe everything else is top 3. Though I could be wrong on Cy Young.

I think there is something about having to play on a playoff team to win rookie of the year, or just even to get any votes! :D

Huh? Both Zimmerman (2nd) and Ramirez (1st) didn't play on playoff clubs... In fact, only 3 guys (all from the Dodgers) were from a playoff team.

 

Oh, and here is the top 12, (I'm pretty sure thats all who recieved votes) they only vote for the top three, but that still means that more then 3 people get votes:
