Would be a nice addition to the bench as a 4th OF'er/spot starter. Would likely be the 1st bat off the bench, can play LF/RF, and can hit lefties and righties.

There appears to be no market, at this point, for the Royals in their effort to reduce their glut of outfielders by trading either Reggie Sanders or Emil Brown.

Not at the top of the list as far as priorities, but the bench has to be improved.

I guess I would like to see OFers two and three before I worry about four.

No thanks. As someone who has watched the Royals quite a bit, I can tell you that Brown is no better than Jock, and he makes slightly more money. We're not interested in a $5MM/year bench OF.

There might, however, be a chance we could send Dempster to KC, they are desperate for moderately priced pitching help. I would ask for some of their young minor leaguers in exchange, two of their nice but not very best guys. We'd get a salary dump and clear out some of the excess in our bullpen.

I'd ask for Justin Huber and Billy Buckner, they might go for that. Lumsden, Hochevar, Greinke and of course, Butler and Gordan, are absolute untouchables.

Dempster is moderately priced in KC terms? He is set to be paid 5 mil this season.

Its Billy Butler and you are drunk if you think the Royals would trade him for Ryan Dempster. First of all Billy Butler is going to be a stud. Secondly the Royals aren't trying to take on salary. There is not a team in the league(well maybe Pittsburg) who would make that deal.

I believe DK is referring to the pitcher in their system.
