  1. Its Billy Butler and you are drunk if you think the Royals would trade him for Ryan Dempster. First of all Billy Butler is going to be a stud. Secondly the Royals aren't trying to take on salary. There is not a team in the league(well maybe Pittsburg) who would make that deal.
  2. Let the record show that McGwire did not use steriods...It was pure redheaded power.
  3. Marmol isn't much of a downgrade if any from Lilly ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gonna have to disagree with you here. Ted Lilly has been a solid big league starter for years. I am going to have to see more out of Marmol.
  4. I don't want Aramis traded for anyone who couldn't realistically put up Aramis-like numbers next season. That depends on if you think that Cubs are going to rebuild for the future...or wait till Dusty gets all of his horses healthy. *Ducks for cover*
  5. World Series, bottom of the 9th, game on the line. Who would you rather see up to bat for your team: Soriano or Walker? I don't think you'd be considering salary at that point ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Your absolutely right. I think someone hit the nail on the head when they said that if you had a team full of guys with great OBP, then Walker would not even be in the same breath with Soriano. But the Cubs don't have that so having Soriano would not make them any better than having Walker. That said the Cubs are along way from the World Series. If I were a Cub fan Im not sure I would want Soriano over Walker either if you compared salary. P.S. I think earlier in this thread someone compared Murton and Cedeno to Albert Belle and Manny Ramirez. That person should be immediately drug tested.
  6. Part of me wanted to cheer for the Cubs to give this guy an extension. I just can't do it. I hate the [expletive]. How could someone be so arrogant and yet so bad and ignorant at the same time. The sooner he is gone from baseball the better. One thing that could make the Cub/Cardinal rivalry as big as the Yankee/RedSox one is that we both need to make the playoffs every. One as division champ and the other as the wildcard. Dusty is definitely screwing up my Glorious plan. P.S. I don't think that Tony LaRussa is a good manager either. Smoke and mirrors.
  7. Carlos Zambrano is an ace. I think what your meaning to say is that we need another ace.
  8. Its hard to debate that we were better thant the Astros that year because they did beat us head to head. I think that any team in the playoffs on the American League side would have won the World Series. Watching the NL playoffs was painful that year due to the lack of offense...especially the Astros.
