Well, for those that say we have too many of these, I checked back four pages and couldn't find one to bump...so here we go!

Jerry Crasnick lists Dunn at the top of his list of power hitters who could be moved this offseason. The Cubs are still in need of at least one big bopper.

What about Matt Murton and Dempster or Howry for Dunn?

you know my stance on him. If he can be had cheaply, sure. But the Reds won't trade him within the division cheaply.

On the plus side, he would be singlehandedly responsible for the wind blowing out all season from all his swings and misses. Maybe that is Hendry's answer to getting outhomered at Wrigley. He'll either hit a homer, or provide enough generated wind force to help the rest of the team.

I'd be interested in Dunn (as always) but I still don't think Hendry values him as highly as many of us do. I think the point about trading him inter-division is valid as well. The Reds may be hesitant.

I don't think I'd deal Murton right now. I'd trade JJ and Dempster for Dunn, if the Reds would do that. Put Murton in RF and live w/ terrible OF defense in exchange for solid OBP and production (can Murton be worse than JJ?). If we're wasting 2 infield spots on "great D/no O" guys, I think we have to do the opposite in the OF.

Sign Soriano for CF and I'd go to battle w/ that group. Not ideal, but if we can add a front line starter, a decent middle-of-the-road starter and Dunn & Soriano without losing ARam, we'll be much better than last year.

Won't the Reds want starting pitching for him? I know they've been gonzo for middle relievers, but surely that's not going to continue because you can only have 6 or 7 guys in the 'pen.

Of course, after everyday eddie went down they do need a prototype closer...

I still don't see how the brutal defense and all the strikeouts from Dunn is outweighed by the home runs. Isn't this the exact thing the Cubs should try and stay away from? I'd rather they sign JD Drew for center and use DeRosa in center if he gets hurt.

And as for Soriano, giving that guy more than four years is sooo risky. He's not worth it.

Dunn gets on base reguarly in spite of the strikeouts.

Maybe so, but his defense is horrid. The Reds would want more than we should pay anyway.

His defense is something you can live with and defense is far, FAR from being our problem right now. His bat would have exactly the kind of impact our offense desperately needs right now.

I actually think the Cubs and Reds match up well as trade partners. They could give us Dunn, and we could give them one of our middle infielders along with young starting/relief pitching. We could also ship them JJ if they wanted an outfielder.

I disagree on the Ks. The impact of Ks on an offense is overrated. His OBP is still great (though down a bit this season).

I'd much prefer Drew to Soriano also, but the chances of JH going after him are not good, methinks.

No interest on my part. His offensive numbers are trending downward, seems always out of shape, plays less than average defense and tends to brood. Of the guys Crasnick listed, I still like Andruw Jones and Vernon Wells.
