Sounds like Pie has been batting ninth and facing a lot of lefties, that's why his numbers are down.

Yeah, most of his ABs have come in the 9-spot. When I have a little time, I'll go through the boxes and figure out how he's done against lefties and righties.

milb.com has his splits through October, but they haven't updated since then.

Hopefully it'll learn him some patience.

Well of course I read your post after calculating Felix's first 42 ABs - exactly what MiLB.com shows. Meh. I'll do the rest tomorrow after our office Christmas party (when I won't feel like working).

Felix Pie's final line: 27/125, .216/.263/.296/.559, 4 2B, 1 HR, 1 HBP, 7 BB, 25 K

vs. RHP: 22/94, .234/.273/.309/.582, 4 2B, 1 HR, 1 HBP, 4 BB, 18 K

vs. LHP: 5/31, .161/.235/.161/.396, 3 BB, 7 K

Since I went through all of the RHP/LHP splits, they might not be completely correct.

Hahahaha, so much for him batting ninth and "seeing a lot of lefties".

What a joke.

The Cubs aren't seriously considering using Pie in CF in 07, are they? He's not even close to being ready. Put Soriano in CF and keep Jones, why is that so difficult?

Because Jones must really want out? Because the Cubs prefer Soriano in a corner OF spot for defensive purposes? Because Pie is a defensive stud and can be best utilized in CF and Soriano wanted to be put in one OF spot and left there (agreed upon during his contract discussions)?

I doubt Pie makes the team out of ST anyway. He's not exactly ripping it up in the DWL.
