Mike and Mad Dog on WFAN in NY quoted Lidle about not being prepared to face the Tigers. They attributed that to meaning Torre failed to prepare them. Lidle has called up (on a terrible phone line) to defend himself, saying Torre is the best manager for the job. They are ripping him, and he's not doing a good job handling it. They alluded to issues involving Philly and Arthur Rhodes, as well as Lidle ripping Bonds for roids, but ignoring Giambi, a high school teammate. These guys are annoying sons of guns, but they are one of the few that have tough questions for players and managers and get guys to answer those questions live on the air.

Lidle's agent has to talk to him about getting a script before coming on shows like that.

Speaking of this show (why am I listening to it?), they make a big deal about tv ratings for different games, and were just going through the list of what are now going to be stinkers later in the year, including Miami/Detroit on TDay and Jets/Miami on Christmas night. They included as a "terrible game" the Bears/Rams game on Monday, Dec 11. You are talking about 2 current division leaders. Why would this be terrible? After the East coast trip the Bears might have a loss or two, and this could be a huge HFA game.

They are actually giving the Bears a great deal of credit with this statement. They are assuming the Bears will continue to be dominant, and the Rams will start to fall off. I think most people are projecting St. Louis to be either 8-8 or 9-7 at the end of the year. They did better than expected by 1 game in the first 5 (which might in best case push them to 10-6), but their schedule hasn't exactly been hard so far. They probably will only win 2 out of their next 5, and they have a chance of only winning 1 out of their next 5. If they do that, it won't be that big of a game at all.

Now they are blasting PTI for having the Bears as their lead story, because, it's a "Yankee day, nationally, it's a Yankee day everywhere".

Normally, I'm hesitant to post an emoticon as a reply (and I guess this post will not be an exception), but here goes...

I realize this, but I still have a problem with it. They were including this game with a list of games against 2 crap teams who have looked awful. If this was an undefeated Giants team with similar stats to the Bears going against the same Rams, they wouldn't include that on the list, because they would consider such a Giants team as must-see (and I'm talking nationally by the way, they always talk about national ratings). They just don't respect the Bears much. They believe they'll lose 2 of the East Coast games and that the team is overrated due to its soft schedule.
